Wow, that can be sooooooo frustrating!!! My friends are amazed by how I remember where things are. I dunno, I somehow make a mental note any time I put anything down. It's like, I snap a picture in my head so if later I need paperclips, BAM! I know where I put them. I've never lost my wallet before, thank gawd. I'd go ballistic just like you did!
I don't know how you'd break that habit though of not forgetting things. My dad is same as you, he never remembers where he put anything! He's lost his wallet and glasses so many times, I've lost count. I guess the best thing is to just PAY ATTENTION!!! lol!
