So I know I havent been on very much, in fact, this was the first time I logged in in a while. I just want to say thank you to all of you friends and subscribers who wished me a happy birthday! I had a good party, with pizza and all~
Lately I've been rather busy, working out things for college [I'm graduating High School this year] along with hanging with friends, working on a cosplay, and going to anime conventions.
All of the armor is made out of either cereal box or regular box cardboard, then spray painted. The jacket is made entirely by hand; used fabric, cut out the pattern, sew'd it, then added the white and all. The wig and eye patch were bought. Gloves were bought from Walmart then modified. Black undershirt, leggings, sandals, and blue socks were also bought. All 6 swords were bought online at Party City, then I modified them to make them more Masamune-ish.
I took the costume to NoBrandCon, which is in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, April 14th. Along with my friends, we had Okami Shiranui and John Egbert. Since we went on the last day of the convention, there weren't many cosplayers, or even fans, who knew us too well. Shiranui got the most notice, who was a fur suit.
This was my first anime convention that I ever went to, and I must say, I had a really good time. Even though the con was small, I really enjoyed being with my fellow peeps and buying ALL teh things. I had a lot of money to spend, but I only spent $70 of it. Of all the plushes, stickers, and keychains, I bought; A Skele-kitten t-shirt, Akita mug and cell phone charm from SorbetJungle, a Chopper plush, and a One Piece wall scroll. There were so many things I wanted, I didnt know what to get first xD
The next con me and my friends plan on attending is Wasaubi Con and AniMinneapolis. If any of you are gonna be there, watch out for the Masamune and say hi, and maybe even have a photo with me. See you there~
I cant believe I havent made a post for this yet, but to say in short, my Chinese friend got me into finally reading/watching Gintama last year. Ever since, Ive been reading it online, and watching it on AnimeCrazy.net. I even have an account there too! Search up Dokuganryuu if you too are registered, and befriend me!
Anyways, Gintama is a really good anime/manga. Its always comedical, but sometimes its serious. I always usually laugh during each episode. The description of the series (currently about 246 episodes long, each episode being 24min long):
In the early 17th century, Japan adopted strict isolation policies and severed almost all ties with foreign countries. In 1853, the US fleet commanded by Admiral Perry forced the doors open, leading to a modernization of the nation's sociopolitical systems and the eventual fall of the Shogunate. The samurai regime ended its life with the imperial restoration in 1868. That's what history tells, but in Gintama, that's not what happens. Instead of the US fleet, the country is stormed by spaceships coming from four corners of the universe and soon we see it occupied by extraterrestrials. The Shogunate has become a puppet of alien occupation armies. All samurais have been disarmed and reduced to temp workers with no skills who just try to make ends meet. Gintama is a story of a handyman named Gintoki, a samurai with no respect for rules set by the invaders, who's ready to take any job to survive. He and his gang, however, are also among the very few who have not forgotten the morale of a swordsman. Wherever they go, all they do is to create troubles. Troubles that they of course try to solve, but in reality...
And there it is! Gin is always doing odd jobs for the Yorozuya, whether it be saving a princess (or a stubborn alien prince who love to keep monsters as pets, usually causing trouble), getting the last issue of ShonenJUMP from another fan, fighting against the Shinsengumi, or even just eating a kurege udon (jellyfish parts in noodles [sounds delish, no?]) meal, which would not be made by Otae, thats for sure. But to commemorate to all the goodness, I'll post my two favorite songs from Gintama (since YouTube doesnt allow episodes on it, copyright stuff and whatnot. So sit back, relax and enjoy! And remember, go to AnimeCrazy.net if your interested in the series to watch the full episodes!
Ok, so one day I was on Gaia and my friend randomly decided to send me a link to Youtube. Out of curiousity I followed it and turned out that it was the first episode of Chobits. It was weird because I had been meaning to watch it, but never actually got to it because I kept on forgetting(curse my short memory >.<) And so I watched it and thought it was really cute. Well, or should I say, Chi is really cute, and Hideki....well.....he's just a pervert, plain and simple. LOL. But still, Chobits is a great anime, and every episode I die of laughter. ......Well not die, cuz I'm still here....but.....YA GET WHAT IMA SAYIN! xD I strongly recommend this anime to you, who are reading this right now.
And to sum up Chobits in a summary, I shall tell you a bit about it from memory (usually I google, then copy and paste xD). So it is the future, and in Japan. Everyone who's anyone has a persocon, powerful computers in the shape of women. Except for Hideki Motosuwa, and eightteen year old boy who has worked on his family farm his whole life in a small town in Hokkaido. He moves to the big city of Tokyo to attend cram school and get into the college he first failed to get in to. Hideki notices all of the persocons that everyone has, wanting one for himself, however all good things come with a price, and persocons arent cheap and Hideki hasnt the money to buy one, which leads to a great dissapointment for him. He moves into an apartment, where another cram student also lives, Hiromu Shinbo, also lives. Hiromu, like many other Japanese, also owns a mini mobile persocon named Sumomo. One night while Hideki is walking home, he finds a persocon lying in the garbage. He takes her home and starts her up. The only word that the persocon knows is 'Chi' and thus, he names her Chi. The story goes on from there, with Hideki trying to find out Chi's origins.
So I've been watching episodes of Sengoku Basara lately. Its so awesome! I love it! The only thing I sometimes dislike is when I have to watch it in Japanese. Not that I have anything against that, but I feel like I can understand it better(well, duh, I dont speak Japanese fluently, lol) when its in English. Most of the episodes I watch in English, unless of course, they dont have it in English, because I watch on Youtube. xD
My favorite character is of course, Masamune Date >.<
I like his right eye too, and Yukimura. I think its hilarioius when Sanada and Takeda are duking it out w/punches. lol. I could say so much more, but for one, I dont feel like typing it all out, and two, with as much as I COULD say, I dont think there would be enough room. So instead, I shall post some very amazing pictures. ^O^
