Yeah I agree with you about the contest thing. I had no idea it was going to be so popular to tell you the truth, but I think one of the reasons it appeals to so many people is that anyone can do it. It kind of seems like everyone is equal in a way because they know they won't be judged based on what's digital or someone can't say "Oh I lost because the other person had better coloring skills" or something like that, and then vampire kiss didn't put any limit to the number of pictures on it and didn't stress out specific characters and rules. I know I am having a pretty good time with it.
I also agree with the first comment completely. Traditional is WAY harder to do. Becuase, you have to work so hard to make it look as nice as a digital picture and you have to know where to color and what to choose. You can't just erase the colors so easily if it doesn't work out and there is no "Undo" button to take back your mistakes. I do appreciate good digital art, but hey, there's a time and place for everything.
Anyways...hope I didn't annoy you with this long comment
I've always preferred traditional art over digital (not that I hold anything against the latter,of course) and the challenge by vampire kiss is surely a good attempt at raising interest towards it.Good to see you participate yourself.Charcoal's tougher to work with than pencils and I like the way the 'Totoro' fanart turned out.
You have been quite active over the last few days and since you mentioned taking up some other theO related projects,I'd say I am glad at your interest and participation in the community =P
I don't have any particular "well-maintained fan world" in mind, but you might check these out.
Filtered in accordance to popularity/quality score, you might come across some well done ones.
Oh btw,in your reply to my comment on the last post, you hadn't clicked on the 'reply' option, due to which it didn't show up on my backroom that I had a reply (saw that just now :p).Just wanted to mention, while submitting wallpapers, you might keep some widescreen options available.Since, while browsing wallpapers, some filter them according to their resolution and that would make them miss out on the ones not matching the ratio of their desktop.
