Yeah I get what you mean, sometimes it's so easy to get depressed or frustrated. I find that it's usually because I'm swamped with too many things that I want to get done all at once. Talking to other people helps me sort things out, and it's nice to get affirmation from other people.
Of course one should always strive for improvement, but everyone improves at different rates and maybe requires different amount input. People whom I idolize for art, I know they also draw a lot more, and they're probably just more talented than me in that department. I think what's important is that you enjoy it when you draw (cuz I'm assuming that it's not your projected career...) Personally, I'm used to more than half of the stuff I draw turning out unsatisfactorily, but overall, my drawings are better than before. You've definitely been improving, so don't be too hard on yourself =]
