Yeah, a guy from Edmonton I met on my Europe tour is a Canadian Forces regular, and said he was going back to Afghanistan in the next little while - he'll be in a helicopter rather than on the ground this time around, so here's hoping he'll be safe too.
I didn't know your grandpa was a Korean War vet'. I'll definitely give a thought his way today as well.
If we don't remember the ones already gone, we won't be able to appreciate the ones serving now. It takes guts... it really does.
...that's why whenever I would be at the cemetery this past summer water the flowers on Opa's grave, I'd aim the hose towards the ex-WWII vet the plot above, 'cause he helped in giving Opa's Nazi-free future back to him, which eventually enabled me.
