Thats how I describe you to everyone, "oh thats John He's a really good friend.." But then I add and a fucking cool guy! Glad to see you venting though. You don't want to bury that shit again.
When she told me about it, he wasn't in school any more(He was a super senior who needed to take an extra semester to finish off his last couple of credits before graduation.) So I didn't talk to him about it. I never sought him out after she told me what was going on, and he never called to hang out after graduation. I only saw him one time after that and it was in the middle of a mall.
I understand the skepticism, though. I really do. Its why I didnt immediately act upon my feelings when I saw him then.

I think I would probably feel the same way as you. Add to the fact it's a pretty weird request for him to try to friend you, especially if he knows how hostile you felt toward him in the past.
And... please don't get mad at me, I am going to play devil's advocate here. After that happened, did you ever talk to him about it? Or if you didn't want to let him know she told you, talk to him about why they broke up or something? Basically, did you ever ask HIS side of the story? Not saying she had any reason to lie, I don't know her, I don't him either. But you were becoming pretty good friends with him right? Did he seem like the kind of guy who would do that either? I surely don't know, and hell, you might even be able to say, after knowing him... that yeah, yeah he does seem like the kind of guy who would do that. You have every right to become mad and defensive after what she revealed to you... but I know for me personally, I could never swear to punch someone's face in without hearing what they had to say either.
And that's just my opinion as a very neutral outsider on the whole thing. Well, sort of neutral lol, in that you know I got your back no matter what. And no, I am not saying the girl always asks for it and yadda yadda, I AM a girl, and one if you remember, that had some not pleasant things happen to her as a child with a man, so I have a little more right to pissed off at would be molesters that most people. I don't want to hear any of the flaming comments from anyone. But still, as a girl, and one who was molested in the past, I still wonder what his side is.

I think the fact that it still bothers you ten years later is a good thing. I mean it's a serious thing that was deeply personal to her, and it's one of those things that just ruins a person's image forever.

Eeep that is pretty crazy. You are a good friend, John. Never let anyone tell you otherwise! I hope that you don't add him as a friend >_>
