Chapter 1

A small group of bears wander through the forests of Ashenvale, investigating a new sound that's been bothering them. As they approach, the sound begins to resemble snoring. They finally reach a large clearing, in the middle of the clearing, laying out flat is a large green dragon. Sunlight reflecting off of the scales, giving it a green tint, it breaths slowly, sleeping. Only occasionally does the beast move into a more comfortable position, never opening its large eyes, but occasionally cracking them to reveal glimpses of the Topaz spheres. One of the bears, the smallest and probably youngest, trots closer cautiously. It lightly paws at the giant, making questioning noises, "vurr rurr rurr" the dragon carefully bats away the bear, which fearfully flees when the dragon's enormous paw moves. Then, the bear's attention is drawn to another sound, a twig breaking under a leather boot. A slender Night Elf woman slips out of the trees. Green and brown clothes wrap fittingly around her body, revealing the slightly muscular form of the woman. Feathers and beads are attached to groups of hair strands, and a talisman with a crescent moon carved from wood hangs from her neck. Her clothes are embroidered with cloth leaves trailing all the way down to the bottom. Her hair is long and light green, getting lighter as you go further down and turning blonde about 2 inches from the end, which is just above her waist. She speaks with a strong, but comforting, voice to the bears "Ishnu Alah noble beast, I've come in peace for the same reason as you. I know what this creature is, he is a friend. You may return to your den without fear." She talks to the animals as if they were her kin. The biggest bear trots over to the smaller, nodding at the elf, and then pushing the child away as he walks home. The woman smiles as she sees them off, after they're out of sight she turns to the sleeping dragon and sighs, "I swear, you sleep more than the dreamer herself...” she chuckles as she approaches. She steps on the dragon's snout with a leather boot, leaning closer to its face, "Tarenus, do you ever do anything besides sleep?" she lifts her foot slightly only to slam it back down on his nose, waking him up. His opens his large eyes, the golden glare hitting her. She only responds with an egotistical smirk, "Well? what else do you do besides scare animals by sleeping in their forests?" the dragon shakes her foot off his snout, speaking in a deep, but calm, voice, "what I do is help with monitoring the emerald dream, which requires me to sleep, I've told you this before Vera." she stumbles and regains her balance quickly, "So? You keep sleeping in my forest, and disturbing the animals." her gaze is now angrier. "Well..." Tarenus doesn't seem too effected by her anger, "the connections to the emerald dream are strong here, and the grass is so soft, I fall asleep whether I want to or not" he chuckles and stands on all fours, the wind begins to pick up, forming a cyclone around the dragon. His scales begin to peel off; turning into bright green leaves in the wind, beneath the scales it's hollow. Once all the scales are in the air, the cyclone shrinks; to about the height of a man, and forms into the shape of one also, well built, short golden hair with black tips barely passing his long pointed ears appears. The leftover leaves form his clothes a dark green shirt, sleeves stretching to his elbows, under a dark brown leather vest that stops at the shoulders, his pants are long and black, forming themselves down and around his ankles. He has no boots. Standing bare foot and he stretches out an arm, the remaining leaves form a hardwood staff in his hand. Vera laughs a bit and shakes her head, "do you always have to show off with that fancy transformation?" Tarenus's lips curl into a smirk as he nods slowly, "Why not? I find the transformation rather amusing myself." as his eyes slowly open its show that he still keeps the same topaz orbs as before. He releases the staff, which stays straight up and still, as he stretches off the stiff limbs of his napping body. "Why have you come here today? You’ve rarely visited this forest since the nexus war, and with all these rumors of Deathwing...” the elf stops, waiting for his reaction. "Who says I got permission to leave? you ever try sleeping somewhere covered with the thick scent of undeath and decay?!" he snaps back, then gives her a slightly apologetic look, "sorry, that comment was meant for Itharius..." she steps closer to him, placing a soft bare hand on his cheek, "did you come here just to see me?" seduction seems to almost pour from her eyes and voice as she teases him.”Perhaps, but you'll never know," he doesn't take the bait. She smirks back "you've gotten better at resisting that" she pats his shoulder and turns around, walking toward where she came, "so, what have you come here for?" Tarenus grips his staff again, following her slowly, "Well, I did need sleep, and I just needed to get out of Northrend, I can only take so much of the cold snow, and the grasses of Sholazar aren't as soft as Ashenvale." she stops, turning around, "that's not why you came though, if that was all you would've been able to go anywhere, you probably would've gotten permission to leave, there's something going on isn't there?" she sounds worried. "No Vera, I'm telling you the truth," he insists.
