Ans: Hm, when you purchased the tablet, you got the installation CD and another CD of 'How to use Wacom' right? Check it.

Well.. when you save the file, you can choose the format, under the 'file name' there is 'format:'. If you haven't finished your work, I'd suggest to save it in PSD, because you can continue your work when you open that file.
It's hard to explain without the snapshot of photoshop working page, here is the tutorial. And check out the tool tutorial
