Uhh I am loving the sound of your neighbourhood ~ In awe ~ Does it have all those really big houses with indoor swimming pools and stuff? I would love a house like that one day ~ Dreams off and then monster hugs ~ I love that you have a similar sense of adventure to me, I adore that sort of thing as well, I thought I was the only one ~ Is relieved I am not ~ Next time you have to film this so I can watch with you ~ nods head ~ Though I hope it doesn't happen too often, it would probably get annoying after the second time lol
I thought it was rather fun lol. And the bomb really only blew the lock off the door, they used the battering ram to break the rest of it down. I think it's hilarious that it happened in this neighborhood preciously because it WAS this area. I live in snob central. Urgh the people and how snotty their money makes them. But its not exactly the kinda thing you would expect around here so I just find it funny. But I am weird like that. Besides the Drug and Alcohol fed guys were standing around behind the house talking to each other and laughing while the SWAT team did all the work, so somehow that doesn't invoke a sense of danger to people lol.
Having not seen the ending of Lost yet, or read the FMA manga I am going to pass reading your post so I don't ruin anything for myself, and instead I shall read and reply to this one ~ Hugs ~
Wow on that excitement ~ gawks ~ I would have been on the street gawking for real, I have never seen anything like that happen and I don't really want to. The only places near me are law offices and a court, so I guess if there was a SWAT team anywhere it would be raiding one of the other apartments in this building which would be creepy, especially if they used bombs, they would probably end up blowing a hole in my wall as well ~ grins ~
I have to admit that I have never heard of them using water bombs before. They aren't the balloon type things are they? ~ laughs ~ That is what a water bomb is to me, something children throw around.
I love how it brought the community together. I have to admit that I am far more likely to talk to people if something exciting happens, not sure when the last time was though ~ raises eyebrow ~
I hope nothing like that has happens in the meantime and doesn't happen again any time soon ~ Giant monster hugs you ~
That definitely sounds like it was worth seeing. I've never seen anything like that in person but my friend's dad is a cop and I've heard some of his first hand stories that were similar. But seeing it all happen easily blows that out of the water.
Was the reason for the raid ever released?
I also did find it a little odd that they were letting people look but at the same time, I have a feeling it was likely done in a way to prevent anything from happening to the scene. That, or no evidence was really necessary/present in the parts that they were showing (which would make sense since they blew them up).

I agree with TC. *nods* (cuz we watch NCIS a bit too much) Wouldn't all those people destroy evidence? Cuz there are evidence to bag and tag and the chain of evidence to maintain... And people would get their sticky fingerprints everywhere!
But that is so cool! XD The biggest thing we had on my street was when a bee hive fell from a tree and the mean neighbour was stung repeatedly while I walked through the panicked bees unnoticed.
And what you said about the neighbours talking to each other is like the Desparate Housewives. =O Cuz your husband works with someone on the street, and all of you gathered around to talk with the law enforcement around. *nods*
I watch too much tv... You can never watch too much tv! DX
It's stuff like this that I love hearing about from my brother. And really, when the SWAT guys can chat a bit with people around, it just makes them more approachable to people who tend to always be suspicious of police. You get word on why they breached the house yet?
Also, fun story: supposedly the first time my brother ever rammed a door, the guy handing it to him asked how many hits he thought it'd take him. My brother probably thought it'd only take one or two; it ended up taking four or five shots, I think. Hilarious, no?

Was the guy next door building bombs or something? I mean why the heck was the SWAT team there? o3o
And while it all sounds fun, letting everyone look and stuff like that sounds unprofessional to me. Like, I'd think they'd be more concerned about keeping everyone back so nothing gets disturbed ya know. :P
I've had a similar thing happen in my neighborhood a few years ago. I had just got home from work that morning and i was sitting in ym living room playing videogames when someone knocked on my door. When i opened the door, there were 5 SWAT guys standing there with automatic weapons lol. Apparently the guy that lives in the house next to mine had beaten up a cop really bad during a routine traffic stop up the road and they were out looking for him. I gave them a bunch of info about what he looked like and what he drove and they went back to looking for him. they found him out in the woods later that afternoon lol.
