You could always not fill it up, and just put, like, twenty or thirty bucks in the tank. That should do you for what you need, I think. =P
Plus, at least you can read your gas gauge. Mine doesn't work—previous owner had the brake lines redone and the mechanic forgot to rewire the tank (and forgot to replace the rear tank)—so I can only tell how much gas is in the truck by a rough estimate of gas mileage, how much I put in last time, and what the mini-odometer says.
