I'm glad I got the information you wished to know to you. It helps to know you can understand where I'm coming from, too. (edit: I also got free PRK corrective eye surgery so I no longer need glasses or contacts. Yay!)
Getting to know you has been rather interesting. At first, I was actually somewhat intimidated by you. You seemed all smart and scary. haha. But then I actually talked to you and you were nice and funny, along with smart and scary :)
I hope all your endeavors work out for you. Toodles.
PS: I always loved reading your essays.

I am awful at telling news or of knowing what people might want to know, sorry Alla.
And yet you did exactly what I requested, knowingly or not. =)
I understand pretty much everything. For my part, I sort of fell into a similar trap: after I went through a major burnout (accumulating from both a lack of direction and a career choice completely contrary to what I wanted, and exacerbated by my own stubbornness), I began using my computer and the internet as a means of escape, and although I sort of halfway rescued myself scholastically, the choice meant I ended up tanking again. On top of that, I had had utterly no success finding any sort of hourly work, which I believed I needed to give me some semblance of focus again.
I just got sick of it. So after a visit home in the Spring, during which time I had a lot of time to think (because a little kid gave me bronchitis, influenza, and a sinus infection, all at the same time), I decided that even though I wanted to finish college, continuing to beat my head against a wall under the pretext of shaping myself up while continuing to provide myself with easy means to avoid any sort of shaping up was simply not going to work.
I signed on with the Navy at the end of March, to go into their Nuclear Power program—which is the curriculum I had begun to get interested in during my last few semesters of school. I've been in delayed entry since then, and I ship out to basic training October 24th.

I don't think being on TheO is a bad thing. But then, since I don't really do much, being on several times a day isn't odd to me. :V
I wish you guys would have come back in glorious, explosive fashion, but I'll respect your choice to bow out. I'm just happy you came back to let us know you guys still existed. :P
Thanks for giving us a heads-up. You'll be missed, but c'est la vie.
I have sort of a personal question to ask of you, and you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable... but By Bible Educational Work, do you mean you're one of Jehovah's Witnesses? I'm just curious, because I'm one and some of the phrases you use sound familiar.
At least you said good-bye instead of vanishing forever. Good luck with you and Twisted and everything else. Maybe one day we'll run into each other again. That would be nice.
My name's Ellen, since we're in the name-sharing mood.
