First of all, a long overdue plug of Korey's fantastic Yakety Sax'd! World. It is a very entertaining place where many movies and random things are set to "Yakety Sax," which was used often in The Benny Hill Show. The latest video -- Star Wars -- is fantastic.
Next, my Dodgers beat the Cubs yesterday, 7-2, in Game One of the NLDS. Rejoice! I thought the Dodgers were talented enough and on enough of a hot streak to take one or two games from the Cubs in this series, but I never imagined they would beat Ryan Dempster. Huge victory for them. Not going to do much bragging right now, though, because I am terrified of jinxing this series. However, I am confident the Dodgers have at least a solid chance of winning another game today. Chad Billingsley really became one of the National League's best pitchers this season, and Carlos Zambrano has been shaky as of late (although his no-hitter showed he is more than capable of stepping up to the challenge).
I am continuing Eureka Seven. Right now I am at episode 28 -- as with Utena, I am amazed that there seems to be no ceiling to how great this show will be by the end. Eps 26 and 27 made my jaw drop pretty much every minute (ep26 in particular has a beautifully thrilling action sequence that had me jumping out of my seat). I <3 this show so much.
Also watched the debut of Hell Girl on IFC a couple of days ago. The first episode is OK -- premise is interesting, and the story is not bad. Hopefully the show can continue through 26 episodes without becoming repetitive, though.
Lastly, Rock Band fans should know Rush's Moving Pictures album was made available for download recently. I just watched a video of the drum part of "YYZ" on Expert, and, um, holy freakin' crap:
I think it's safe to say you don't beat "YYZ" -- you survive it.
EDIT: I am watching this White Sox/Rays game right now, and Evan Longoria has hit two home runs so far. He is never going to let me forget sitting him when he had that three home run game. Ever. :(
