It's gotta come out of an AM radio: Nothing's more unsettling than hearing both Doo Wop tunes and Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" crackling out of the same mono-tone speaker. Hmm, I think I just created the fundamental for a David Lynch project.

So, the '80s are the new goldmines for diggin' up the hits. I would never have thought of Depeche Mode as sitting comfortably besides Bread on an oldies station. I can't wait until the '90s qualify as well: "And next up we've got Soundgarden's "Jesus Christ Pose" coming up, right after "Leader of the Pack" by The Shangri-Las!

4) EVERYONE BORN IN THE EARLY-TO-MID 1980s IS GETTING OLD.
Living the dream? :P
I think your Oldies station is just whacked out. The ones I remember listening to here plays the 50s and 60s stuff, maybe a touch of 70s, but never went as far as the 80s. I would think 80s would be the remit of a 'Classic Rock' station. Although the more decades pass, the more everything in the last 50 years of the 20th Century will be called Oldies.

LOL, yeah, it's funny how I've grown up in this era of crazy technology, but I'm still such a dinosaur. I'm dreading the day when DVDs are phased out -- it's nice to have something physical, right? Same reason why I still like newspapers, even though I get a lot of my news online.

LOL That would be awesome.
"Now, here's Tupac Shakur's 'California Love', followed by 'California Girls' by the Beach Boys!"

True. But 'Classic Rock' has a more classy ring to it than just 'Oldies'. XD

Thank goodness I was born in the late '80s. 8D *pie'd*
But seriously, I think that radio station is just messed up. I agree with Timey Boy, sounds like it should be on a Classic Rock station, not Oldies.
