I linked to the MySpace pages of the three groups, so you can hear samples there. Personally, I think noodles has the best recorded material (found out today that they've been together nearly as long as The Pillows!), while monokuro is a lot better live. But I have a limited selection biased toward the live performances, of course. :)
Haha, yep, there's nothing quite like shouting along to the chorus of "Hybrid Rainbow" with a bunch of people. My throat was pretty hoarse afterward lol.
I'd love to see them! I think $20 was a fantastic price to pay to see such a fine band. Did they do any cover tunes?
I'll have to find some stuff by the other bands, especially monokuro. I like some of Sonic Youth's earlier and mid-career stuff (up to "Dirty"), so I'm curious.

I've seen The Pillows live before, actually. And yes, it is a worthwhile experience.
The downside? The place they were playing at didn't have a bathroom. Which is retarded. People have bladders, you need to provide a dumping grounds for them. I don't care if there's a chance they could be doing drugs in there, I think your customers not pissing their pants would be better for your reputation.

We got in not long after the posted 7 p.m. start, but concerts never start at the posted time, so there was more waiting.
So it's exactly like the Movie Sign experience, meaning you got to do both in a single night. Excellence!

Glad you enjoyed the concert!
Yeah, Hybrid Rainbow is one of the few performances I remember vividly from the concert I saw. What a great song to hear live~
