This sounds all too familiar to a lot of us, eh? ^_^; It's taken me a couple of years but now my parents are softening up to the idea of lending money from me in times of need.
It can't be easy to go from supporting your children to needing support in return, so huge props to your dad for being such a Man about the situation and for raising the wonderful you *salutes him* :)
Something about seeing a parent break down is incredibly painful, and kind of scary, in a way. I've only seen it once, and I don't really care to experience it again.
This is going to sound trite (I apologize for that), but I'm sure your support is a huge bracer to your dad. Even if his pride is smarting some, I'm sure he knows your help is coming from a place of love and deep respect for him. In the end, that probably helps immensely.
You guys'll be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your dad's load lightens up soon.
Ohhhh I dunno. In general I'm still hangin' on with at least a hundred r two every couple weeks. And I get taxed more than you do. Also, I'm pretty sure you make more money than me.
I can appreciate this a lot. I'm at that point where I want to give back to my mom for everything she's given to me - and that's been a lot, just like your dad. It's still hard, though, because I'm kinda at that phase of "they cover you" to "you cover yourself" to "you cover them" where she's still sneaking in ways to cover for me even when I can handle it and don't want her to. Kinda like, I want us to be square right now, y'know?
Now, I know that their mindset is "it's your money for your future, you shouldn't have to spend it on my account." But hey, if you've already saved that much in this past year or two, I think you'll be okay for the next long while.
That said . . . . . you're totally one of those guys who can never seem to understand how your friends with few serious expenses always seem to be going paycheck to paycheck, aren't ya?
Knowing that someone is beside you really helps in life. I have no idea what I'd do if I never had someone like that.
I'm sure that what you're doing will go some ways in helping him, in more ways than one. Your generous thoughts and actions will speak for you. I wish all of you well.

I know how you feel. Still living at home, no job, I began to feel like a leech on my folks, so I started paying a small "rent" every month. I'm sure it's a drop in the bucket but its all I can do now and at least I wanted to at least cover my share of groceries and any other little things.
Tough times can get to anyone, and its good to know your dad has you and your family to stand by him.
My thoughts are with you guys. My family had to replace their fridge today. We are also getting the deck redone (It was falling apart) So....your daddy should be okay because he has an awesome son and family to back him up! <3

I honestly don't know what to say, since anything I might say would sound preachy or something... at least that's what I think.
But, I do agree with Ducky. I'm sure it helps that your dad knows he has your support. I'm hopin' over here for ya too.

If I lived on my own, I'd probably be living paycheck-to-paycheck too LOL.
