Yeah, if you didn't care for the series, then definitely do not watch End of Evangelion. If you have the time, though, I actually do recommend the new movies ... the second especially is way different from the TV series, both in plot and tone.

That is why I don't really feel like watching End of Evangelion. I just know it would depress me as all get out. Plus I didn't care much for the TV series anyway, so why waste time seeing the movies? Even if there is the argument that they "make sense" of the story.
Also, that last line of yours on Dreamcatcher was gold. Kudos.
