I will have to watch American Splendor. I've heard about it from various people, but the most they would tell me is "lol movie adaptation of comic book", so it's been on the margins of my radar. (Duuuude, didn't Harvey Pekar make an appearance on Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations?)
Yeah, I've known about it for years but never had the guts to touch it. But now that I'll need to have a regular supply of stuff to review, I may have to go after some of these more obscure titles. :P
Well I checked and there hasn't been a review done it yet, so I'll definitely tackle it.
Yeah, I've heard of some anime that are pretty offensively bad (though I've never seen them). A couple that come to mind are Baoh: The Visitor and I'm in Love With My Little Sister. (Links go to reviews)
It's definitely something, that's for sure. Mars is maybe the most shoddily produced anime I've seen (either that or Legend of Duo), but I don't think it's the worst anime I've ever seen, mostly because it is harmlessly bad rather than offensively bad.

I've heard of Mars of Destruction. Didn't realize it had the lowest rating on MAL. Maybe I'll watch it to review for AP. :P
