    Ah, I heard of the insanity that goes by the name of El Topo! I remember reading about Alexander Jodorowsky a couple of weeks ago in the entertainment section of a newspaper, and they mentioned some of his works. Whenever I feel brave (or crazy?) enough to watch it, I'll try and wrap my head around it.

    @Ace:

    EXACTLY. That's how it happens in the movie, and while still pretty dumb (due to the existence of said murder arch), it nonetheless makes infinitely more sense since it's the killing curse that offs Sirius rather than the aforementioned murder arch.

    As a kid, Sirius was my favorite character, so I ended up being in denial about his death for quite a while. Now that I'm older, I can see how it was necessary for plot purposes, but I still agree that the way it happened was really stupid.

    There were killing curses flying everywhere in that fight. What the hell did the Ministry need with a murder arch and why couldn't Sirius have gotten hit with one of the aforementioned spells instead of falling through the bullshit murder arch and confusing everyone forever?

    His death is one that seriously confused me in the book too. I was all "Wait, did something happen? Why are the characters suddenly reacting in this manner?"

    Spaceballs is one of those movies I will watch any time I see it's on TV. I watched it a crapload of times this year alone because VH1 or VH1 Classic played it once a week, if not more.
