    @Shinmaru:

    Thank you for the help. I'll check out their newer albums--and specifically the songs you've mentioned. I knew you were the right person to go to for music advice (or at least Sonic Youth help, haha). :P

    @DDG:

    If you want something like "Superstar," then you should stick to Sonic Youth's more recent music -- basically everything from Washing Machine on (aside from A Thousand Leaves, which even I have trouble getting into at times, and NYC Ghosts & Flowers, which I don't think you'd be into). Murray Street, Sonic Nurse and Rather Ripped are all good and relatively mellow like "Superstar."

    As for specific songs, I think you'd like "Little Trouble Girl" (off Washing Machine); "Dripping Dream," "Paper Cup Exit" and "I Love You Golden Blue" (off Sonic Nurse); and "Incinerate," "Do You Believe in Rapture?" and "Pink Steam" (off Rather Ripped).

    Hope that helps! :)

    Question, Shinmaru... I know you like Sonic Youth, and I've recently begun listening to them, but I'm having some trouble with their music. I really like Superstar (got it when I acquired the Juno soundtrack), but so far, I haven't been able to find anything else that just clicks with me. I've listened to parts of Bad Moon Rising, EVOL, Sister, and A Thousand Leaves... is there an album or even a few songs you can specifically recommend for me to listen to? One's that will be more along the lines of Superstar?

    Thanks, Shin.

    @Shinmaru:

    Everyone's always saying "this song is so long!" (about Green Grass [...] and Through the Fire and Flames) but what I really want to see in Guitar Hero/Rock Band is In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, the full seventeen minutes. That would be torture.

    Yeah, I've seen it lol. I'll never do that. For one, I'd have to dedicate my life to Guitar Hero in a way I never want to do. Guitar Hero is fun, but there are limits.

    Second, and most importantly, I really hate that fucking song. Blah. If I want cheesy metal, I'll hit up Iron Maiden, thanks.

    I got to see a friend of mine play some of the harder songs in Rock Band on Expert.

    Dear God. Just crazy how many notes they want you to hit in succession, and at the same time. :S (Both Rock Band and Guitar Hero are fucking nuts with their harder difficulties.)

    Have you ever seen "Through The Fire And Flames" played on Guitar Hero III on Expert? x.x

    Uwah, posting schedule . . . hehe, those never took with me. Good luck!

    And dude, wait 'til you get to "Green Grass and High Tides" for guitar. That's pretty much THE guitar song for Rock Band - gotta really get used to the finger-tapping for that bad boy. But damn is if fun!
