I'm sorry. You wants hugs?
If it helps, my mom likes to think of herself as more of a Libertarian than a Republican. You are not alone.
But hey, at least you actually researched the guy first instead of being like a lot of people and just going, "OH LOOKY THAR HE'S IN DA SAME PARTY AS ME! *votes for*"
And so, for staying informed, you win cookies! :D
Oh, man... that bites something fierce. I make jokes about Californian government as much as my friend who used to live (and still wants to) in California... but this is ridiculous. It'd be awesome if I had a candidate over here that wasn't Democrat or Republican (if there are any, they're sure doing a good job of hiding). We need more "third parties" that actually fit something other than a stereotypical bill...
...but that sucks, man. He seems like a total extremist tool. "I WEAR MANY HATS." Yeah, sure dude. If only there was a candidate that pledges to take the issues and solve them without political undertones and just a sensible, informed approach. No... we're America; things don't work that way.
Timber's right with how it always seems we get the more extreme side of the factions in politics. I know the local election here isn't going too smoothly either. For one state representative, it's either a woman who has out-right lied about her actions (or lack thereof) in a chemical-clean-up effort we have going on the lake, or a guy who's about three years older than you with a former-rep dad and questionable solutions to certain issues we have concerning the high amount of Canadian waste we get (for one). There's tons of mud-slinging and negative, negative, negative... which severely turns me off as a voter.
WE NEEDZ BETTUR PPLS FUR TEH GUVVERNMENT, OARS I MIGHT RITE IN BASEMENT CAT.[/lolspeak] It's like, come on, men and ladies. Think beyond party lines.
