Disneyland, Ahoy!

First off, if you are curious about every picture taken, check 'em out here. Not all of them are great, and there are a few repeats, but if you're a completist, then hey, I won't stop you. I'll be linking to most of the pictures I think are interesting enough to share, but I won't be linking all of them. Because, seriously, 170+ pictures is a lot.

Second, and this has some relevance to this post, I swear, my boy, Syk3, has way too few subscribers. He was my first friend on theO/OB, and I guarantee he's a cool guy, so subscribe to him if you will. Maybe he'll start posting more if he sees a big spike in his subscribers! :P

So, of course this past Sunday I met up with Laura (Japan86) and (briefly) Shy at Disneyland. Fun times were had by all, although not for a little while. Laura and I were slightly late, because her ride had a bit of trouble finding my home. Not all directions can be completely precise, I suppose. She made it to my house, though, which is all that matters. Laura is essentially exactly the way she is IRL as she is online, for those who ever have the opportunity to meet her. She's a fun person, so this is very much a good thing! Soon enough we were off to the races, and we left Shy hanging only about an hour or so (sorry!).

However, there was another snag. Laura's boyfriend, Derrick, had a bit of trouble getting out of work (I think that was the reason), so we ended up hanging around the Disneyland entrance for another hour or so, chatting it up with Shy and his friend, Tom, who informed us that there is footage of Disneyland's new parade on YouTube. I have not watched it, myself, but from what Laura told me, it is a wondrous trainwreck of epic proportions, so I am eager to see it. Perhaps Laura can confirm if this is the parade? (There is a part two off to the side.)

Eventually, though, Sir Derrick arrived, and Shy used his vast connections to get us into California Adventure and Disneyland for free, whereupon he walked off into the sunset after fulfilling his ultimate role. (Actually, it was 2 p.m., but had there been a sunset, Shy surely would have walked into it.) With tickets firmly in hand, we ventured into California Adventure, because it had fewer rides we wanted to try. While we wandered around the park, I talked with Derrick a bit -- he's a pretty good guy, and I quickly forgave him for being late (partly because I'd been late, myself, haha).

Our journey into California Adventure was less than stellar. Partly -- by which I mean completely -- due to our dumbness, we could not find the ride we wanted, despite the fact it seemed as though we combed every other possible corner of the park. Good times. After an hour or so of aimless wandering, we eventually gave up on California Adventure, because aside from a couple of rides, it didn't strike us as being too exciting, anyway.

But Laura and I did take some pictures, though! :O

Not gonna lie. I took this picture solely because of my crippling immaturity.

Hey, it's Goofy posing with a random family!!

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror from the back. I went on that ride in Disneyworld a few years back, and it scared the hell out of me.

Nice looking fountain statue of Mickey from Fantasia.

My sister was quite angry to hear we did not go on Muppetvision 3-D. She is a Muppet maniac.

I forget what exactly this is, but it looks cool.

Part of Paradise Pier, at the far end of California Adventure.

This picture frightens and confuses me.

And that was that with California Adventure! (Keep in mind that we had not actually been to any actual rides yet.) Onward we went to Disneyland.
