Haha, yeah...in Desolation of Smaug he insults a picture of Gloin's son Gimli, saying that it looks like a goblin mutant. And then all the LOTR fans think that's hilarious because Gimli and Legolas will actually become really good friends decades later when Lord of the Rings starts up. So he basically just called his future BFF a goblin mutant. He gets less mean, I think Peter Jackson putting him in The Hobbit was good even though he wasn't in the book, because we see a lot of personal growth from this movie series to the next one.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
