Maybe something like that. Only I wouldn't want the mannequins to have bad intent..ooh, I've got it! Maybe the kids figure out that because of the way the mannequins were created, some of them are turning dark, and that's the problem. So the remaining good mannequins have to fight the bad mannequins and try to reverse the damage they cause, but it's hard because every day, more mannequins are losing the fight to the creeping darkness inside of them, so the side of good grows smaller as the bad one grows larger. The kids have to help the mannequins reverse the magic that created them, turning them back into ordinary mannequins. They're not sure if that'll make them sedentary objects or if they're still be aware but unable to move, but either way, they'll no longer be able to interact. So the kids have a choice: they can slowly watch their only friends succumb and turn bad, or they can take the life out of them forever. Then, after that, the kids have to track down and confront the evil being that created the doomed mannequin minions. The good ending is that the mannequins managed to unite all these lonely, damaged kids while they tried to subdue the growing evil. So after the whole thing is over, the children are sad about losing their friends, but they now have each other and they're all connected by the secret they share and the mission they completed.

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
That's a pretty good idea. And then maybe the mannequins get caught up in a big crisis and they're trying to help the children solve it without letting the world know they're real.

ooh i know! At night, when everyone went home, all of us mannequins would arrange ourselves in suggestive positions and when the employees came to open up in the morning, they'd have no idea who was doing it. They could review the security footage, but then all they'd see is a bunch of mannequins moving around on their own. And they wouldn't know what to make of that.

Random things like clothes. I'd put a bunch of underwear in someone's cart and then they wouldn't know how it got there. Or a pile of candy. Or a really creepy stuffed animal.

I haven't heard of it. I don't have a TV or a 3DS so I haven't been able to keep up on the most recent games.

Maybe, but if I wrote it it would probably be darker.

I would befriend lonely or bored children being forced to shop with their parents.

Only if they wanted to, I wouldn't want to condemn them to a life in which they weren't happy.

Or I'd sneak random objects into their shopping carts while they weren't looking.

I would freak people out by standing around in stores and then moving when they turned their backs, so when they saw me again I'd be gone.
