Yeah, but in the show that was pretty much another rape scene that the directors tried to justify. In the books, Drogo barely knew her language, but he did know "yes" and "no" and he specifically asked her these on their wedding night and waited until she said "yes". Drogo's treatment of her is important because she was a young scared girl basically being sold into an unfamiliar culture for marriage, and she already knows how that can turn out. The fact that Drogo takes steps to let her gradually incorporate herself into the culture speaks very much of his character, and it's part of the reason she loves him so much. In general he's simple and strong and violent, but he treats her like a queen. But in the show he grabs her roughly and when she tries to get him to just wait a minute he disregards her 'no' and just keeps trying to force her. That made me mad, and apparently the actor who played Drogo even said "sorry" to Emilia Clarke before a couple of their scenes for what he was about to do.
I do love the show "game of thrones" but certain character discrepancies, these especially, piss me off.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Those kind of scenes, I understand. The scene where Cersei and Jaime have sex in the church pissed me off because Jaime raping Cersei killed all character development he had accumulated thus far.
Yeah, but they're also a LOT more sexist on the show and a lot of things have been changed unnecessarily like consensual sex scenes being changed to rape scenes for example, and then the producers try to be like "that's not actually rape" and anyone with half a brain is like "uh yeah actually it kind of is". there's one in particular that pissed me off.

I think they have to divert from the books because they are going to be catching up to the books, and they are going to have to go off down their own path. This is probably getting them geared up for that.

There are a lot of little things from the book that got twisted into the show.

And Khal Drogo was so much sweeter and gentler to Dany in the books too.
