With the chat, you just have to jump in the conversation as best you can. I usually don't speak that much, myself, unless there is a conversation I am interested in.

Yeah, it takes a while to get used to it. Especially if you are not known, you won't get talked to much except by those type of people that like to talk to everyone. Tell me when you want to go in again (pm me or something), and I'll get you into the right crowd. Hahahahahaha...
