Welcome to my world.
I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.
And I work for this site.
And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).
Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.
If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

All this reminiscing about Inuyasha made me read a bunch of my old myOtaku posts. It's almost unfortunate how some of the stuff from 10 years ago is somehow still relevant to me now.
Heh, I feel kinda exhausted now.
Anyway! Fun news, I'm hitting up Emerald City Comic Con this coming weekend! Any of you Washington-types heading out to that? Gonna get all of the Star Warsing on . . .
Other than that . . . . . shit, I need to make a Sakura-Con post soon, eh?
EDIT: holy shit! Just checked my "degree of separation" email and another name from the olden days popped back up! This one was also pretty relevant to me at the time until I had figured she was mostly crazy and got away from all that. Maaaaaaaan . . . I do not have time for this right now . . .
So almost ten years ago I blogged this . . .
And today I get to say that I finished Inuyasha. Completely. And it is 4:41am right now and I am sleepy.
Man, I missed this show. Anyway, good to know I was able to at least take care of one decade-long piece of unfinished business this year. Though curiously, I kinda feel like this one flows into the other one a little bit . . . we'll see, I guess.
But yes. Finished Inuyasha. It was enjoyable. I do not regret my time with it. Also, ten years ago I used to blog with a lot more gratuitous Japanese . . .
. . . meh, I was what I was.
I'm finally getting around to finishing Inuyasha.
If some of you remember me from way, way, way the hell back, you'll recall this show was somewhat of a favourite of mine back in my young university emotionally volatile days.
I suppose that latter bit hasn't really changed, really.
But damn. All of the music and the characters . . . super nostalgic. Forgot how much I liked this series . . . but yes. Hooray for unfinished business getting finished!
Work is sucking more and I have cons to worry about soon. Also, started playing Civilization 5 for some damn reason so I'm wasting all my free time with that.
Anyway, gonna be doing some SAO cosplay this spring. This is part of it:
Hilarity, yes?
Also, happy new year. May the snakes slither ever in your favour this year.
Cosplay plans for Sakura-Con look to be Nathan Drake, Alfheim!Kirito, and . . . um . . . Prince Demand.
Drake is Drake. But I may have a friend skulking about as a Chloe, so it'd be worth our whiles to get some hilarious shots of us together in daytime light for once.
Alfheim!Kirito came about after a great deal of unspoken unease between myself and another friend. Sometimes you just really feel like there aren't enough characters in a series, y'know? And I know how ridiculous that sounds when describing SAO . . . but apparently it happened. Go fig.
As for Prince Demand . . . . . well, the girls all wanted to do Sailor Moon cosplays. I still had spots to fill in. Thankfully, I found out about the Black Moon Clan, otherwise I'd have to go as one of the ultra-fabulous Shitennou guys . . . and I think I would just really prefer to not have to do that, y'know? Also, I don't remember much of the episodes involving the Black Moon Clan, so I need to do ressearch. Otherwise, I'll just be a fake geek guy.
And that would be hilarious.
Oh! While on the subject of cosplay, look what I made for a special Christmas present that a bunch of people roped together by "Fuckyeahuncharted" on tumblr made for Naughty Dog!
It all got put together into a book and package and shipped off to the game makers. It was fun to be a part of that.
