Welcome to my world.

I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.

And I work for this site.

And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).

Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.

If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

Aaaaany time now computer . . .

The Bad: The snows have begun in Vancouver. With a land as hilly as it is, this shall likely lead to all kinds of hell out there.

The Good: The aniki hooked me up with a deal, and I was able to get my tires changed for snow tires at a reduced price via a tire place that gives police officers discounts. Also, I have home insurance now - unrelated, but also involved dropping money today/yesterday.

The Hilarious: From my own observations, the vast majority of people ACTUALLY shopping at Superstore in the middle of the night are young couples - possibly on really cheap dates. Even more hliarious, now with that in mind . . . the Front End Supervisor told me the vast majority of what these people are buying in the middle of the 24 hours open nights . . .

. . . are condoms and pasta. Also apparently, last year it was condoms and whipped cream - I guess the young couples realized that complex carbohydrates were more practical or something for their plans?

So yeah.

Oh, also, I finished my far away people mail finally. It's a relief. Also, I spent a lot of money today/yesterday.

Probably no Captions This Week . . .

. . . unless I get them in late later today. Either way, probably not in time for podcast. As for podcast . . . well, I'm gonna probably spend the better part of today back at the ancestral home hanging out with my parents and my stepdad's son and his wife (which makes him . . . oh yeah, my step-brother. There we go - hooray for extended family clarification!). Aaaand I confused myself . . . oh yeah, podcast!

Yeah, I can probably do the podcast from my old computer back in New Westminster. I should also probably catch up on all the messages and stuff that I haven't been able to respond to, too. So that, more mail, and . . . I'unno, whatever comes to mind, I guess. Should be good.

And Joshface, if you're reading, your Halloween recap was crazy awesome and I wanted to comment but I wasn't logged into myO through my PS3 (not surprised) and the comment wouldn't take. I'll say it more later if I see ya, maybe.

Other than that . . . work was crazy busy on Thursday and Friday. No-Tax days during Christmas shopping hours. It mostly sucked. But hey, we all kept our spirits up so the retarded customers didn't take away from the vast majority of good, understanding, kind-hearted folk.

Tangent. I still haven't changed my tires yet. This could cost me dearly, as I park on the street and it's on a slight hill. Ah well . . .

. . . other random recap: there were super cheap pillows at Superstore for 4 dollars apiece (marked down from 8 or so). I picked a couple up because they could prove beneficial should people chill here overnight. Also, it gives me an excuse to finally get those somewhat embarrassing Haruhi pillows off my DVD shelf and to practical use. As for whether the SOS Brigade girls in either swimware or sleepwear will end up being far too embarrassing to have around the living room or not, well . . . I guess time will tell sooner than later. Or whenever my brother comes to visit me next.

Let's vote on the latter.

Anyway, computer's still not back yet, if that wasn't a given already. Here's hoping for service completion by Monday, as that would be very convenient for my schedule right now.

Oh yeah, and Schultzie, if you're reading, check your PSN messages re: addresses and stuff.

. . . I miss having time to spare before Christmas. Anyone else feeling that way right now?

I Missed Glee!!!

So here's a quick recap:

I can't share the gyoza pictures via PS3 even though I COULD technically, because the image file is too large for theO's tastes. Dang. You'll just hafta wait 'til my computer is back to me and happy.

That said, it suddenly occurred to me that all my addresses for Christmas mail are on that computer.
Fuck.
I need to get back to the ancstral land of New Westminster fast, I think. There's some mail that needs a little longer to travel than others, after all. I guess more incentive to not sleep in tomorrow . . .

Because it's CHristmas time at work, I'm working longer hours at Superstore now. This means that I'm not getting home in time for television - I missed the season finale of Being Erica yesterday and I missed Glee just now. Thank goodness Megavideo still works on this machine . . .

. . . also, Monday morning was death. Graveyard shift followed by bringing computer in for servicing followed by buying car insurance. THEN sleep. Meh, whatever.

That should cover what's happening in Vancouver. I hope you are all well.

Christmas Card Count: 1. Flint, you're right. Santa does look stoned out of his mind. Well played, good sir, well played.

computer troubles again . . .

Can someone poke Adam to post the podcast? I imagine he probably doesn't respond to PMs much these days. Can't blame the guy, really.

Tech troubles (again) aside, I have graveyard tonight now that Superstore is 24 hours for Christmas. Should be fun.

Also, gyoza party. I'll upload a picture in an edit later if the PS3 will indeed do everything . . .

. . . oh, except chat. That won't work.

Oh crap! Right!

There Will Be Brawl comes out on the last Friday of the month, not the first. Episode 9 is already out!

Haha, and according to the website, the episode crashed the internet that day. Nice . . .

. . . alright, let's see where the story's going now . . .

EDIT:

25 minutes later . . .

. . . body count rises, more mysteries slowly come loose, and the trench coat is off now - symbolic much, I think.

Also, "Excuuuuuuse me, Princess!"

The last Friday of December cannot come fast enough . . .
