Welcome to my world.

I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.

And I work for this site.

And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).

Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.

If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

Love. Freaking. Castle.

Castle's on right now. Halloween episode.

Episode opens with Castle-putting-on-costume-montage.

Red shirt. Tight pants. Boots. Revolver. BROWN LONGCOAT.

Alexis: "What is that?"
Castle: "This? This is, a.... space cowboy."
Alexis: "Again? You wore that costume five years ago."
Castle: "...I like this costume..."

See, this is why we love Nathan Fillion. Also, there was a Buffy reference afterwards. It just makes sense.

Freakin' love this show . . .

EDIT: Found a sneak picture from the set:

Space cowboy indeed . . . . .

There Will Be Brawl . . .

Dude, that's Kyle Hebert . . . we love that guy!

Just started watching "There Will Be Brawl", a web series that's apparently been going on for the better part of this year now. Currently it's up to its seventh episode and has just two more to go.

The series basically goes, "what if Super Smash Bros. Brawl was a dystopian noir world of crime bosses, crooked cops, and serial mutilators?" It's dark, it's violent, it's vulgar, and it's also incredibly funny. Luigi is also the star, which makes me super happy - I've always been a Luigi kinda guy.

And Kyle Hebert plays Wario. We love Kyle Hebert here at theOtaku.com, y'know.

Anyway, should go without saying that this is pretty intense, so it's not for youngins. But if you're mature enough for a cannibalistic Kirby and a Princess Peach who feels you should think of her as a slut . . . this is a crazy good series!

Good News, Bad News . . .

Good News: I got home early enough to watch Being Erica on TV. 'Tis a sweet little Canadian dramedy, 'tis.

Bad News: I totally got sick again. Stupid Ed blames the ghosts that haunted us Friday night (he even missed work!).

Good News: I HAVE AN APARTMENT!!! Mom came with me to look around on Monday. She takes a bit of credit, she feels. In any case, I shall not go homeless starting November. Despite the no elevator (it's on the 3rd floor, will complicate moving), no balcony and no reserved parking, it's less expensive than my current place and is 700 square feet which is pretty big considering what I'll be paying. So yay!

Bad News: I can't find my cheques for my bank account that I think they credit-checked me for. I don't think they came with me during the move. I hope this does not complicate things . . .

Good News: Rock Band DLC today/yesterday: Queen! Ten songs, all brilliant. I should download that now, actually . . .

Bad News: 13 Ghosts (the old 60s version) is on TV right now. Evidently, Ouija boards unnerve the hell out of me now since Paranormal Activity. Go fig'.

Good News (to end on): Penny Arcade made this. Uncharted leads to hilarity. Always.

Happy News, Scary As Balls News . . .

Remember that Stephen guy whose wedding I like to take credit for saving?

Had his first child on Thursday morning. Big baby too. Right after work, I rushed out, bought some flowers on behalf of my mom, and then bought a plush cow puppet along the way (born in 2009, year of the ox and whatnot). Arrived at the hospital room at about 3pm, ended up staying for like three hours . . . so yeah. Baby. That was pretty cool. So congratulations, Stephen and Maria!

Then on FRIDAY . . . . . I saw Paranormal Activity with Alexa and Stupid Ed and Alexa's friend whose gone to cons with us this past year.

Good movie. Great movie, actually, and I could wholeheartedly recommend it especially on grounds that it is actually creepy as all hell and quite scary as balls at points. Really well done for . . . what budget was it, $11,000? Man . . . that's awesome . . .

. . . what was LESS awesome, though . . .

. . . I slept all through the night which was nice. Then at the very, very end of my dreaming time, I started - and get this - dreaming about thinking about the movie. Like I was at my computer, in chat, talking about Paranormal Activity. Mostly it was just Allamorph going "oh yeah, how was it?" (I'm guessing just because we had an exchange re: Ed in chat that night [also funny]).

Anyway, started waking up, thought I heard noises, heard someone whisper my name, I thought maybe it was Ed . . . but in any case, my eyes were open and seeing my room, and when I heard my name in my head, I had a massive shiver go through my body . . . aaaaaand, my body wouldn't move. Just kinda shook my head back and forth a bit trying to look over my covers. Eventually I started moving again, but damn, that was effed up.

Dreams? Sleep paralysis? Probably, most likely . . . but it was still scary as fuck. It was cool, though.

Anyway, that was Friday.

Yeah, Kitty Got Wet!

(After a few hours of playing the game... I hear a line. Then I check stuff online...)

By the way, Uncharted 2 is a freaking glorious game. It's paced so well, and you just want to keep going and going . . . Everything about it is just perfect.
