Point One: When I first read the yahoo article about GH: World Tour, I was conflicted. I actually turned to my mother and said I didn't know how to feel about it. I own neither Guitar Hero nor Rock Band, but I know someday I'll get one or the other. I've played GH3, but I've been leaning towards RB. That aside, isn't competition supposed to increase the quality of products? So, even if this GH isn't ultra-awesome, won't it spark Rock Band to go one step further and show 'em up big time? I mean, am I mistaken, or didn't the dudes behind Rock Band get the initial concept for their game, albeit one they expanded and improved upon, from Guitar Hero? Can't they continue in that tradition?
Point Two: At least it's under warranty. I know having a semi-broken set for the weeks it takes to get the new one will suck, but knowing in the end the manufacturers are willing to do the right thing and replace it free of charge is somewhat consoling. And it really sucks for your cousin. No one'll blame him, or at least if they're decent they won't, but he still blames himself, doesn't he? No way around feeling guilty.
Point Three: I just knew you'd be seeing them soon. ^^ Sitting amidst a Japanese audience is a rather different experience, isn't it? While hosting a young Japanese schoolgirl, I attended a Royals baseball game in which they took on the Yankees. NY has Matsui on their team, so the 500+ Japanese tourists from Kansas City's sister-city that I was sitting in the middle of were "rooting" for him. That was some of the most polite baseball cheering-on I've ever witnessed. (The Royals trounced the Yankees 7-0, btw - poor Matsui...)
I hope I get to see those guys in concert. Did they happen to mention a deep-seated yearning to visit the Midwest? XP
Writing Bit: I'll be happy and willing to join Chase-san in the consultation process. ^_^
I love open-ended parentheses...especially when the first word in them is 'edit'. ^^

Of course they're copying. Anytime anything is successful, the other guy on the ropes will try to copy the big guy's success rather than actually try to come up with a new original idea.
Broken bass pedal? Perhaps they should make them out of titanium to prevent this.
Now I need to start having some discussions with a couple other people to start planning out what and how else we play with this bad boy . . .
Heh, pretty sure I'll be one of the people in on that ^^
