I'm terrible with money. I'm even in debt in World of Warcraft. I have to borrow money from people for repairs. It's pretty sad.
Thanks for posting this, you reminded me I had to put money in my checkins accounts.
My roommate and I have kind of worked out a system where like, he'll buy a pizza for us to share, and I'll buy him lunch, or we both get food we can both eat...whatever. It's much more bartering. Though it's really weird, cause like, I have this aversion to people eating food I specifically buy for myself. I get really angry like "THAT HUGE BAG OF TORTILLA CHIPS IS MINE." At the same time, I feel like I'm entitled to eat other people's food.
I am aware of this habit, so I don't do it, but I can't help feeling it. :p
Just saying though, if I were your roommate and you had a plate of cookies on the counter, I'd totally snag some of that shit, but I'd yell at you if you took one of my sodas.

AW YOU WERE WORRIED
xD
In jr high, my school was like a bank. We all lent out money to one another that there couldn't possibly be debt because you had borrowed from the person who wanted to borrow from you at some point. In high school I was a little better about borrowing and lending and I definitely only let people borrow money if I knew they were good for it. I can see why people don't like to lend money, even to friends, though.
That is a very important philosophy to have. In fact, that's why I haven't taken out student loans yet (waiting until uni hits for that one). There's not point in buying something you cannot afford to begin with, so why be a leech off others for money? Transferring that logic to favors makes total sense to boot.
If only more people shared your philosophy and would live within their means we wouldn't all be in this pickle we find ourselves in with things collapsing around us. =( Self-sufficiency and the soundness of mind that results from it are wonderful.
Miss Anonymous: ARE YOU CALLING THE PLIGHT OF PIZZA EVERYWHERE STUPID?!?!? >:O
This is a very good philosophy you have here in my opinion, and I totally agree with you for the most part. You've made some very valid points I believe.

Self-sufficiency is a wondrous thing.
Could not agree with you more.
Never be in debt in the first place.
So true.

I'd rather see in shades of gray.
