Holy crap, I finished a cosplay!

Before getting into the meat of today's blog, I wanna first off say that yesterday was AMAZING for Fan Words. Yesterday I published five new Fan Words, which is pretty much unheard of so far. A lotta good writin' today, what can I say? Oh, I know:

Damn fine work, you guys!

Going further with the whole writing thing, I've also started building a list of editors and beta-readers for future Fan Words in case anyone needs one ('cause sometimes it's just a really good idea to let someone else look over your work first, y'know?). If you're game for that or would like to learn more, check out the post over at "Metropolis" for that info.

So that's site work - on to cosplay!

So as most of you know, I've been working on this cosplay.

It involved turning this into this.

Yesterday I bought the shoes and the ring finally, to make this:

I ordered the gun holster online, it's at stupid Ed's house, and I can grab that on the way down to Seattle. All I really need to do otherwise is make that shirt dirtier. 'Cause otherwise it just looks like L. And that'd be a shame.

So right now I'm thinking I need to roll around in the wet grass a bit to dirty up the shirt, then let it dry/stain really well, THEN wash it (in cold water by hand) so the stains remain but the shirt still gets "clean" enough to wear normally. Sound good? If anyone has a better idea, I'd love to hear it.

Otherwise, I think I'm set.

So for Sakura-Con I'll do Kung Fu Hustle on Day 1, followed by my tuxedo in the early evening for the Masquerade Ball (which is kinda sad, being only two hours and ending at 8pm) . . .

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for Day 2 (most likely day of the theOtaku.com meet-up) . . .

And, naturally . . . the Shinsengumi on Day 3, including a great deal of insanity . . . bwahaha . . .

I'll probably make another plug for Sakura-Con in a "featured" extent tomorrow. Y'know, advertising and all that jazz.
