First of all, congratulations on getting your new job. You deserve it. You searched your ass off for years to find a job, and now you finally have one. I'm really happy for you~
Second, I know you told me of the relationship between you and your "father" awhile back. I'm just shaking my head... who cares about how far it is? What does that even have to do with you? He should be happy that his daughter got a job and is growing up. He should be happy with the progress that you've made. How dare he try to dictate where you go and disregard everything else. You don't care about how far it was. You just wanted the job, and now that you got it, you're happy, and that's all that matters. Ever since you told me about him, I've been very disappointed in him. I don't think my opinion could get any lower than it is now...
And third, I almost had a situation similar to yours last year, except, I never got the chance at the job because of the distance and other things that accounted to it. It would've been a great opportunity too... but I like to think I know how you feel, in a way. I'm really sorry. I hope you'll be alright. Hey Birdie-chan, congrats on the job. That's great news. I have an interview later today. Hope I get a job too. But congrats, I is happy for you.
In regards to your dumb dad, honestly (no offense) but to hell with him! If he can't be happy for u then that is a crying shame. I feel your pain when it comes to my dad. He and I have never had a relationship, not really. No matter what I do, I can't please him. I'm tired of it! But anyway I didn't come here to share my sob story. Long story short, if your dad can't appreciate and be happy for his lovely daughter than he is an idiot! What matters in the end is living your life and making YOURself happy, then everything will fall into place~
