Go to smackjeeves and look up Alternate by nozmo. It's really strange, but really funny once you get into it. Also, Celestial Mirror by SentiaShinou is getting a good, solid story going. Hokori by SugarPlumNeko also looks like it's going to be beautiful. Split Poison by Rizu has continually improving art and an intriging story and characters. MYth by zelda99 is gorgeous in every way. Resonance by Shamdu was recently started over, but it's fun, interesting and has lovable characters. Serenian Century by Ruina hasn't yet given you a definite plot, but it still keeps you wanting more. And I should be a professional advertiser.
Well, depending on what you like, I’ve got a couple webcomics for ya, 5 to be exact
CAD is a gamer comic that started in 2002. Art has gotten considerably better. Typically the same few characters with the occasional non-sequential with the rather odd Chef Brian or the homicidal players 1-4. First webcomic I ever followed. Updated Monday Wednesday, and Friday

xkcd isn’t plot driven, but it does seem to have reoccurring characters. Typically stick figures, but the rather educated creator will shock you with the occasional feat of artistic skill. A lot of math and physics humor, but not exclusively. I haven’t been following it for a couple of months. It’s up to over 600 comics with updates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Questionable Content is currently in a week of guest comics due to Comic Con, but it’s pretty good, I suppose it has a certain type of humor. Large sized cast with a big art improvement. Nearly 1500 comics updated Monday-Friday
http://www.questionablecontent.net/
The next two are done by the same writer/artist duo. If memory serves, they run Blind Ferret, so they put out videos here and there
LICD has follows the same few people, driven by a ladies man created by a geek, so it’s a rather interesting comic to follow. Done through several different artists before Lars who now does the art. Upadated 7 days a week now, with Sundays being kind of a, “When they were young.” Up since 2003

Looking For Group is fielded by a World of Warcraft based cast. This is another webcomic I haven’t followed lately, but I’ll catch up eventually. Dick, the mage, is one of the better characters I’ve seen in a webcomic. .Updated twice a week and is up to 272 comics
