You could at least have not told me so I wouldn't have noticed till like..

But yes, no, it doesn't make sense.
The entire idea behind hipsters (for example) is the exact opposite of what the actual person is going for.
The group is so "well known" now that everyone and their avatar is into it.
And it pisses hipsters off more instead of, say, making them happy that they are showing people new experiences and such.
Then again,
Why don't we all just like what we like instead of basing what we like on the opinions of others?
Hm, I've never really talked to or met a hipster outside the internet...It is now my quest to hunt down a hipster and interrogate their soul I mean make friends...
This style of writing is familiar...
It's true though, a lot of people let the fact that something is considered 'popular' or liked world wide sway the way they think about music, or even books.
But the reason behind that would be the idea that everyone needs to be unique. And the only way we seem to think that we can be unique is by liking something completely different from what everyone else likes.
Even if it means saying you don't like a band or a song because it's suddenly liked world wide or has become 'mainstream'
It's almost mainstream to dislike mainstream ne?
RIGHT??!! If they think it's cool or they think mainstream is overrated, I don't know what's with them. People like that just confuse me. But I guess to all their own.
I felt that something like this didn't need to be heavy. It covers a heavy subject (at least for me), but it didn't need to be written heavy.
I had a bit of fun writing it, though. I will admit.
That is a right fine song hun. I will look into that band more- thank you! Right now Id have to say I've fallen in love with '20 Years' by Civil Wars. Good song.
