Nice emotional piece, even if the subject is awful. People, as you put it, really do need to think about what they say when they think they are being honest. It's all to easy to hide being nasty behind a front of truth that isn't really true at all.
Thanks, I understand what you mean, about the emotion. I really want to try something more fictional next time though. So far all of my responses to the prompts have been tied to personal experiences. Which is fun, but I do at least want to try and do what others have done. ^_^
Ouch, that is an awful thing to overhear from your own mother. I think anyone who reads this piece can think of something careless they heard someone close to them say that really hurt them. And while that's not a great thing to feel, I do think it's great that your piece can evoke such strong emotions. Great job!
