It's all in the lines hun. if u want something to look scary, give them furrowed eyebrows and creases showing its an intence look, the eyes are more straight lined and the features aswell as the mouth, try and make the teeth more jaggered and the hair either spikey punk or like well groomed, And the pupils small and veins in the eys. Remember the creases for the mouth near the nose, showing movement of muscles then put the character in a threatening position. And don't forget, the more you use dark disturbing colours such as Dark reds navy's blacks, grays etc the more intimdating the piccy Hope that helped in some way hehe ^_^ and good luck...
