Anime Online Viewing Status of 12/25/2011

Over the Christmas holidays, I managed to finish watching YouTube channel VVA Productions' "Queen Millenia" fanedit of Harmony Gold's "Captain Harlock and The Queen of 1 000 Years".

Apart from "Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn" in the meantime, I have not not yet decided on the order on anime I plan to wacth online, thoguh I am sticking to the plan to watch one series at a time. I am considering wacthing the second season of "Spice and Wolf" so as to have a chance to finsih watching the entire animated series' plot, and if possible, "Space Pirate Captain Herlock: Endless Odyssey". Additionally, there are a few 2012 anime titles I hope to check out soon in the future: "Bodacious Space Pirates", the 3D animated "Captain Harlock", and "Space Battleship Yamato 2199".

News: Gundam AGE For Adults In The Works

If you're the kind of "Gundam" fan who feels that "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE" had already caused the whole "Gundam" franchise to jump the shark because it's a T.V. series for kids featuring a man-against-alien conflict as opposed to a mature audience...

News: NGE TV Series Will Be Out of Region 1 Print

After visiting the ANN website yesterday, I am writing here a reminder to all you North America-based anime fans out there that if you have not yet seen the 1995 Japanese animated T.V. series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" (of which the "Rebuild of Evangelion" film series the rebooted version) but want to watch it, you may want to try purchase your copy of it as soon as possible as this series will soon be out of region one DVD print, according to RightStuf. This is one definitive anime of the 1990s that no NGE fan would want to miss out on, because this is what started the whole franchise in the first place.

For the moment, we don't when or if this classic will be relicensed in the future, but I hope it does it relicensed because 1) there are already still "Evangelion" fans out there wanting to legally accees this classic, regardlees of whether or not they enjoyed "Rebuild of Evangelion" so far, and 2) if this show does not get relicensed, it will enter the line of out-of-region-1-DVD-print anime legends that we may never see get relicensed (the "Sailor Moon" anime and 1972's "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" for instance), and I find it bites that new generation North America-based anime fans wanting to see old anime have to find themselves feeling deprived of legal access to old-but-cool anime because it's like a part of history is being blocked away from people wanting to learn of it, and there's nothing with wanting to visit anime's past while enjoying today's anime.

Anime Online Viewing Status of 11/20/2011

Currently, I'm watching a fanedit of Harmony Gold's "Captain Harlock and The Queen of 1 000 Yeras", which is a splicing of two anime T.V. series based on characters created by Leiji Matsumoto: "Space Pirate Captain Harlock" (1978) and "Queen Millenia" (1981). Anyway, this fanedit, courtesy of VVA Productions (YouTube channel behind the "Star Blazers Remastered" fanedit project) omits the "Space Pirate Captain Harlock" content to stay closer to the "Queen Millenia" plot, and so far, I'm at ep. 14 of the fanedit itself with 12 episodes left to go.

In addition, I am currently watching online, the 2010 OVA miniseries "Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn" in English, though I only have seen the first two episodes so far, and I have to admitt that the dub voice work is excellent.
