If they're only interested in you when you're in a relationship, then they (and I'm not saying this about every guy, there are some that don't do this) will become jealous of that other guy because he's got a girlfriend.
Guys seem to believe that they're better off alone, with their guy friends, and that it's best not to be tied down to a girl (or one specific one, if the case may be), but when they see another guy that has a great girlfriend, all of a sudden they want a girl to like them too.
It's probably jealousy... paired with the human condition. We as humans tend to want what we can't have. Like when you have a crush on a guy and he turns out to be gay... you can still be friends but that's all you're ever gonna be.
