He was for awhile, but it wasn't really helping. And he's been on all sorts of different meds but the side effects are worse than the depression.
And now, he works 14 hours every day, so he doesn't have the time to do so.
It sounds like he needs help. if he gets to the point where no one, including you, can do anything for him, it just sounds to me like maybe seeking professional help would be a good option...? But I don't really know enough about this situation. Anyway, I hope that this turns out all right no matter what happens.

I'm sorry things have been so hard for you. I don't really know what else to say, other than it seems like you have to make a decision soon: do you stay with Joe or do you break up?
Until you make a decision, it's gonna suck worse. Dragging it out makes it hurt even more.
