Dude! If he's a legit person, go meet him! You could go do some sort of group thing or do something that involves beinging a friend. Not necessarily a double date, but bring a friend or do something more in public. That way you can get a feel for him and be relatively safe, I mean, you never know, right? Go meet that guy :3
I am being very cautious, and he knows I'd want to take things slowly. I think, from his facebook, that he's a good guy. When it comes to this sort of thing, I'm always looking for little, red flags. You know? But none have been thrown up so far, and as soon as they do, I'll back out.
hmmm very very good question. Talking through text and on the internet is fine. I have a friend i have never met but i text him all the time and its been like 6 years. I would give it a few week see how things go. Just text and get to know one another then maybe meet over coffee. No lunch or dinner just something quick then go from there
Like Amestar pointed out, while talking to someone and getting to know someone, it is easy enough to make a fake identity. Act like someone you're not to get close to them, for whatever reason. But if the things he's been posting for several years now all seem like he's the same good and honest person he's been showing to you, then it seems a lot more likely to me that he really IS that person, you know?
I'd say give it another week or so, see how it goes. And yeah, just do something kinda neutral, like getting lunch or something and just take it as it comes. Just be very cautious cause I don't want to see you getting hurt again~
Oh okay. In that case...perhaps you could do something neutral and friendly like go see a movie or whatever, and see what you think of him while you're doing that.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
In more words what I think is that you know how to approach the situation because you have had the worst of it before.
SO now if you find any similarities between the two situations you can decipher if this is good or bad.
There are no red flags being thrown up at the moment. Which is huge to me.
And I'd almost rather meet in person before talking on the phone. lol I hate talking on the phone.
You could try talking on the phone first? I don't know, if you really want to meet him badly than do it, but if instinct is telling you to be cautious then I'd listen to that.

I think this guy is legitimately a good person, and I'm going to take a chance on that. It's a little scary, but that's okay.
