News: ST '09 Gets 5 Constellation Nominations

The 2009 movie "Star Trek" has been nominated for four categories for this year's Constellation Awards event, which is scheduled to take place at Polaris 24 in Toronto on July 17. Like evry other year, the Constellation Awards honors Sci-Fi T.V./Film excellence. Here are the categories the "Star Trek" movie is nominated four:

  • Best Male Performance in a 2009 Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series (Chris Pine and Karl Urban are nominated for this categories for their roles in the same Trek film)
  • Best Female Performance in a 2009 Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series (Zoe Saldana's two movie roles are nominated for this category: 1) her role of Uhura in "Star Trek", and 2) her role in "Avatar")
  • Best Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series of 2009
  • Outstanding Canadian Contribution to Science Fiction Film or Television in 2009
