Haha, I cosplay as Sasori too! And my boyfriend cosplays as Deidara. We actually had fangirls following us around at the con back in November, but they were mainly following him and I was getting very ticked at them....
Deidara is an Akatsuki member. I don't think he shows up until Naruto Shippuden. The voice is his deceased partner, Sasori (also in Shippuden, and member of Akatsuki). Sorry for the spoiler...And yes, it is a story. ^^
