I think it all boils down to wanting or not wanting to put out the effort to make something work. Those who do, have no problems. Those who don't, complain.
Quoted again for truth. Too many people expect things to be handed to them on a silver platter and just magically work how they want without requiring any thought at all. It's like no one's ever heard of bookmarks—I've been using them to navigate between OB, theO, and myO for years so I couldn't care less about a link between my theO and myO backrooms.
It's so easy for me. I was not here for the other site so things now are how they've always been. ^_^ And people like Sir Allamorph, Dessy, Dagger and many, many others are merely proof in my mind that the community here is far from lacking. It's very inclusive and warming and welcome.
Sir Allamorph hit upon it perfectly in my mind with this statement:

Life has always been what you make of it, the biggest limitation you'll ever run into is yourself.
Can't say I envy you for multi-tasking though. XP Man is that a lot to keep track of!
:p I do. I've been taking some older sheet music written when I was a lot younger and converting it to a digital format. Just some simple melodies that I did ages ago. ^_^

Yes I think I did know what you were going to say. And... I agree.

When people complain about a lack of community, I automatically bring up the Watercooler and all other collaborative worlds. I believe VV gives us even more opportunities for community than the old versions of TheO ever could *nods*
And yeah, people find it easier to whine than to find ways to make things easier.
How in the world would one even keep up with that much stuff at the same time?
You know what I'm going to say.

O_O You've told me about that before... but wow. Seeing a mock screenshot of what you were talking about really puts it into perspective. I mean... holy hell! How in the world would one even keep up with that much stuff at the same time?
That and it's a given that there's always going to be something that one considers annoying or inconvenient, no matter how it's done. lol
True, plus I want people to see things from my perspective since it isn't a lack of concern or even [pardon the pun] indifference towards people's frustrations. It's more that how I see things is quite a bit different from how others will see it.
It can look cold hearted or as if I don't care, when in reality, it's merely that I see it from what I consider an already superior position compared to what I have dealt with in the past.
To me, it is not inconvenient because I've been doing things differently for longer than this site has even existed. I'll save the argument as to why it's better for another day. :p
That's a good mindset to have really, and ultimately far more healthy. It's always good to step back and see things from a much wider perspective than only focusing on the narrow one of here and now.
You are correct. In a work environment, making things work instead of getting annoyed at the limitations just made life a whole lot easier. ^_^ So I try to think that way about real life too. The fact that technology keeps getting better and better [tabbed browers make a good example] only makes that mindset easy to have. Because it's the truth.
So in other words, you're use to taking whatever current system you have and simply making it work instead of worrying about whether or not it could be considered inconvient.
Your feeling is correct, I am not kidding. Microsoft was one of the worst offenders in that tech support required you to be logged into a lot of different servers at the same time. One to pull up specifics on how to fix certain problems, one for the customer's actual information, one for doing credit transactions, MSN messenger so you could conveniently chat with your manager that way instead of having to waste time by putting the customer on hold while you went to get more assistance... and that was only the beginning.
That job always had me logged into a lot of things at the same time. :p Because multi-tasking made it possible to help people a lot quicker. It was the same working for Compaq and other major corporations. The ones that really compete, gave you what you needed to get the job done.
Hell, even working as a truck driver we had the limited ability to send messages via an on board computer in the cab, as well as get our current assignment for shipping loads. lol

Somehow I get the feeling that you're not kidding... o_O You really had that many things up and running for work? Damn... That's a lot of windows to have up. Makes me glad we have the tabbing feature since just casual browsing usually has me in seven+ sites at any given time. Especially when I'm logged into the University network.
Only when I'm working. :p But yes, in the past and even now I'm use to multi-tasking a lot. I moved everything over to the side taskbar and did it as if I didn't have browser tabs... Oh how I love that feature. ^_^
But when I'm not working and just goofing off, I only have between five to ten things open at any given time. o_O Maybe I should cut back. XP
My GOD you have a busy online life!!! Hot damn . . . but yah, no arguments here. I'm probably in the choir listenin' to the preachin', though. Whatever.
And yes. Firefox tabs are the greatest invention since mouse-wheels.
