…The sad part is I watch the show on occasion. ~_~ I’ve been exposed to it for as long as I can remember. Lol That’s the one Soap my Mom follows, and even my Granny liked it. So I’m doomed to watch it every now and then. XD
That must’ve been funny! He was being silly to get mad over something like that. *shakes head* I’ve been in relationships like that to, and boy have I learned my lesson. I mean yeah, it’s good to spend time with your partner—but too much of a good thing can turn into something bad. That’s just how I feel though… It is a bit hypocritical of me to say because I’m always willing to hang out with mine. But we pick days to hang out, and days to spend to ourselves, to do whatever we want. I wouldn’t have it any other way. :]
I agree though, while online games are good for meeting new people, they’re mainly for playing the game. Lol I’ve only played two: Diablo II, and Runescape, and I keep private rooms most of the time. In the case of Runescape, I just keep the public chat off. I’d rather play with people I know. ^_^; People on Runescape are a bit rude though. Not to say that I haven’t met some decent people—but it is rare.
I hate to hear that you all have still been getting wintry weather. I love the snow, but I’ve grown sick of it this winter. Had more than my fair share, I did. Lol Hopefully the weather will warm up for you guys. =)
Some of your response comes from ignorance on how the game mechanics work. You do not have to be in the same location to chat with someone. I could be in the middle of a mission and if I’m on your friends list or you have my user name, you could still talk to me. The same goes for guild members who have their own channel that everyone in the guild gets.
The entire game has different levels of continuous communication channels should you opt to use them. We were using what’s would be similar to private chat here. Only you don’t have to stay in the same room. You merely have to be logged in.
The miffed reaction was from my leaving the town, not from my suddenly blowing him off and refusing to talk to him. In other words, without even explaining any preference that I stay visually in place during the conversation, they got mad that I played part of the game. They could have still chatted with me, lots of people do.
Also, you couldn’t know that he had just told me a few minutes ago that he had to leave soon. So we weren’t in the thick of a huge discussion anymore, it had already winded down. Even if we had been, it’s not unusual to run off and do a mission or to even invite someone along since most things you can team up with other players.
As for the exclusive bit in a relationship, we aren’t going to agree on this. It’s not mentally healthy to be so enmeshed in someone else that you get angry or upset if they do something that doesn’t include you. And for someone I knew for all of say half an hour, it was not only unreasonable, it was extremely immature on their part to attempt to place that guilt trip on my shoulders.

I have to say that I pretty much disagree with everything you just said, apart from the idea of "observe[ing] common courtesy". And even that paragraph was said in a vilifying way.
I see it that it was more that they were lashing out at you because, while I obviously wasn't there and I can only infer as to what I understood from how you described it, he thought you two were having a good discussion, and you suddenly left. Maybe it wasn't at all like that, but that's what I got. So perhaps to him, he felt that you just pretty much blew him off, like one leaving mid-conversation because their friend showed up.
Even so, I totally find it hilariously childish that he'd put you on ignore. XD That's great. *laughs*
Whatever the case, in terms of that guy, while I do believe that you're belittling him rather extensively, he obviously still is at fault for the simple fact of getting huffy. But whether or not his reason is justifiable is what I see to be debatable.
It would be no different than if you snapped at Katana for focusing on Movie Sign instead of exclusively paying attention to you. :p
I feel I need to say something to on this subject, because between this (especially the inclusion of the word "exclusively"), as well as the comment of the whole possessiveness thing, I want to introduce the other side (if ever so slightly).
I have to say that while I do personally like being individuals in a relationship, I know that there are some people who would prefer to be extremely entwined with each other. And hey, that's just as reasonable as being individuals, even if you don't think so. It's just another way to live. *shrugs*
And your mention of boyfriends makes me think of girlfriends I've had who did the exact opposite thing. Sure, I of course want each of us to have our own lives, but hell, I would kinda at least like to be PART of their lives. It's only taken a few times before I've learned to avoid that.
But in the end, huzzah for differing personalities, eh? :p
*laughs*
EDIT: Wow, totally did not mean to write that much, lol. Sorry about that. XD

My criticism only comes in to play on account of the rather manipulative snark I got for doing what the game is meant for, playing it.
If someone really wants to make friends online or even eventually date, it's still important to observe common courtesy. You don't lash out at a total stranger and imply they're 'not nice' because they don't sit around and talk with you for hours.

I tend to be too dense to notice such things. Or, if I play it right, I use it to my advantage by getting the person to buy me things. After all it's just a game. < <;;
"Have you fallen in love?" "No, but I've stepped on it."
Yeah, criticizing others for living differently! :D

I don't particularly like that idea either, but eh, if that's what people want to do, why not? I do also find it rather amusing, but then again, so do I find it amusing that I meet people and have friends on here. It's much in the same thing.

Yeees, getting hit on in Guild Wars is quite amusing. Had that happen to me once, and then Boo got on and pretended to be my boyfriend to make the other dude go away XD "I hope you two are happy together", I remember him saying. Fun times, fun times.
I agree with you on the whole Guild Wars being a hang out place thing. If you're not going to play the game, do the quests and stuff, then why bother buying it? I mean, play the game or go get on IM or something =/
