Unfortunately, this applies to virtually every website. I guess the difference is that young fans are usually the culprit in this site, while the others have grown-ups as the culprits. And even if they know they're wrong, they'll keep on insisting what they want since "they didn't find the link" and that the SITE needs to give him compensation (sometimes monetary) for not informing him properly. They even tell you that because he is contacting site support, he expects to be "satisfied", even if what they say is impossible.
This is so true that it's scary. Never mind that the link to the FAQ has been on the front page of the site from pretty much day one. Never mind that people are honestly too lazy to check it out and inform themselves.
Yeah, I seem to be ranting about my old job. So I know exactly how you feel about this, SunfallE.
I've done lots of customer service types jobs myself so I think I can relate to your previous job as well. Though I suppose that's a good thing since it gave me lots of practice to deal with stuff like this around here. Otherwise I think it would probably annoy me. XD

I can now imagine people having their ears blasted by that. Could you see that in a "Sailor Moon Says" format? It would have her with that bubble over her head and it would say things like.

Have it speak, like some of those annoying ads. It can go "HELLOOOO! Have you read me yet?" That should get their attention, provided their volume isn't muted.
I agree with the pop-up idea. Maybe combine it with that annoying paper clip from one of the older iterations of MS Word. Just picture it, every time you click on a page.
"YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE TRYING TO [X]. HAVE YOU READ THE HELP/FAQ SECTION YET?"
Lol, we should make it a pop-up every time someone enters this site.
But indeed, immaturity is a pain in the neck to deal with, I have trouble reading it, so I'm sure I get what you feel.

I like the Sailor Moon Says angle. It would be annoying as Frick but I know I'd laugh every time I saw it.

Hahaha, the paperclip would be perfect. Only we'd have some annoying anime character in it saying "you look like you are trying to [x] and so forth"
Perfect spot for it would be every time you post or attempt to submit something. You go to do it... POP-UP!

Not exactly. I just find it odd how people can join a site and yet never notice they have a help/faq section.
