I'd say the only problem with AnimePaper is that, last time I checked, they still used that system of "papers" where you have to join the site and participate in the community before you can get access to the nice big scans.
True, but if you make e-cards the preview image for all the scans is often more than double the size for cards. So members can snatch those for making cards without even needing to be a member.

I have often been directed to this site. They have some nice, high quality, extractions and vectors. They also offer some very useful tutorials for beginners. ^^ And this is a large scan site from artbooks. I found it a long time ago, don't know if it's any help.
