WARNING: LONG STORY AHEAD. :O In the summer of when I was in the fifth grade, I volunteered to help my art teacher with a massive mural on the sides of two huge water tanks in my city. One day, after finishing the project we were working on, he told me and one of my friends to go back into the turbine room to fetch some more supplies so we could touch up on some minor mistakes. Both of us were carrying enough boxes to were the top one obstructed our vision slightly. My friend was a lot weaker than me so I told him to go first because as you leave the turbine room, the powerful vacuum effect of those monsters would still slam the heavy steel door behind you. As the air slammed it shut behind him, I tried to keep it open by pushing up against it but I failed.(Horribly) The hinge side of the door closed completely on my right thumb. As it happened, I felt the tremendous pressure but surprisingly, it wasn't painful enough to give it my complete attention so I kept on with my boxes, tending to see how bad it was only after I put them down where they needed to go. On our way out my teacher was heading our way to check on us cause the infamous turbine room was already known to tackle people with its door if you weren't careful.(A few days earlier, a girl bruised her shoulder after she too tried to keep it open by pushing up against it) He look at me and said, "Is there blood on that box?" And I said, "What? Which one?". I put down the boxes in order to check it out, when I realized what had really happened. My right thumb popped open with the pressure of the door closing on it. It looked like an open ketchup bottle! Only about a centimeter of skin was keeping the tip connected to my thumb. I panicked, only after actually seeing it did I feel the true extent of the pain. >> Fast forward to the hospital. When they were about to stitch my thumb back up, they injected some anesthesia in the base of the thumb and waited for a little while for it to take affect. Four anesthesia shots and 30 minutes later, there was still no affect. I was praying for numbness but it didn't come. They had already given me more anesthesia than they should have, so the only thing they could do now is to hand me something to bite on. One of the representatives for the City of Laredo gave me a blue hankie to bite on. I felt every single in and out of every stitch. By the time they were done, my teeth were blue. Anyways, it all turned out ok. It healed completely and my nail grew back. But to this day, whenever I shake someone's hand and they happen to noticed my deformed thumb, they get a curious look on their face. At least I have something to talk about when people I meet get curious. =)
<_<? O_O Woops, I tend to leave really long comments sometimes. Sorry about that.(I did warn you though :P) I just wanted to say, I know your pain. Finger injuries are very painful. Especially if you're a gamer. I remember thinking in the emergency room, "WTF man!?!? How am I going to be able to pull off hadoukens and shoryukens now?!" I was about to enter middle school and I wasn't even concerned about being able to write and having to learn with my left. No, I was such an idiot kid that I was more worried about pressing buttons so I could keep playing Street Fighter II! -_-' Well, I hope you heal up nicely and continue to enjoy your gaming pain free! :D And keep a better eye out for those sharp objects. I agree with Miss A, since sharp objects are out to handicap you, you shouldn't even let your guard down with cheese graters! lol Take care and see you around. =]

It's amazing how you discover just how much you use a finger once you've cut it. Hope things get better for you soon, dear.
Beans are evil. Bad, bad beans.
