In the following months, Salazar tried his best to start over and begin to live his new life serenely. He didn’t wanted to forget his parents, but also tried to move on. He wasn’t sure of who he really was, or what he wanted to do with a brand new life. The insecurity was always a big part of him, but being surrounded that people that believed in him without judging had helped very much.
About one thing he was sure at that point. He was irremediably attracted by other males. He still felt ashamed about that. Even if Cynosaura had told him many times that there wasn’t anything wrong, he couldn’t help but remember how angry his father was about it. He always tried to not show it off in any way, and even to not think about it, but it was difficult with Cynosaura that always pointed to him all the handsome men they encountered while they were wandering in the cities.
“We will find the right guy for you, my dear. You deserve to feel what love, real love means. Just leave it to me. I have nose for hot bods.” She said smirking excited. Salazar knew that her friend was moved by good intentions, but he kept thinking that maybe it was the best for him to remain alone. His first experience had left a bad scar on him. “You won’t be so adamant, when you’ll met the right one, I’m sure.” kept teasing her.
When they arrived at Opelucid City Salazar decided to accompany them all the way to the entry of Victory road. The others were enthusiast about the idea of being all together for a last short journey. But when they arrived badge check gates they had to finally separate.
They stayed for a while say goodbye. Salazar felt like crying at the idea of leaving his team, but he knew that Cynosaura wouldn’t have allowed him to shed anymore tears, so he simply embrace everyone long. Cynosaura squeezed him in her strong arms, recommending to him to behave and not surrender, and promised that they would have met again very soon. "I won’t let you go until I found you a boyfriend." she said, winking.
When they finally pass through the gate and walked towards the road, Salazar found himself really alone for the first time. Until a few months before he would have panicked, all alone, not knowing what to do. But now it was different. He wasn’t so scared of the future anymore, only he wasn’t sure what to do yet. When they had stayed in Nimbasa city had seriously thought about his sewing abilities, and since he loved it so much, he was thinking about making it become his profession.
While he was reflecting on that, he noticed a man on the side of the road, who seemed to be waiting for someone. He was quite.. pretty, assumed Salazar, while his gaze lingered guilty on the man’s lower parts. He cleared his throat, feeling quite embarrassed about it, but it was difficult to not stare.
The man had definitely quite charming. Salazar swallowed nervously for no reason. At some point he heard a familiar voice whispering, inviting. “Salazar… I’m the voice of your subconscious... go immediately talk to that hottie over there!” He turned to find Cynosaura half hidden in a bush, with her hands cupped over her mouth.
"Cynosaura? What are you doing here? I thought you went to the Victory road with the others” he commented casually, quite used to all that. "Well, it was so in fact, but I was attracted here again by the smell of sexy masculine pheromones. And the ass. Especially by the ass.” she said making a provocative gesture, which made Salazar blush violently. Her face opened in a big sly smirk.
"You’re interested, huh? What are you waiting for then? Go talk to him already! He’s the right one, I can feel it!" she said cheerfully, giving him a push toward the man. Salazar blushed even more “but really.. I…” at the end he sighed and smiled. "I don’t have any choice, do I”? “Did I ever given you one by any chance, sweetface?" she grinned. "No, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.” He said, hugging her and resting her head on his shoulder "good boy." She smiled returning the embrace.
And so Salazar went to talk to that man, while Cynosaura kept watching them form the distance. She grinned pleased and rubbed her hands “I did it again. I’m such a genius.” Commented, then she turned and walked away to the Victory road again.
