White Cucumber Review
Image from Adagio.com
This is a white tea from the folks at Adagio.com. The user average score for this one is 3.7. I have no idea if there's caffeine in this tea.
2.5 out of 5
My Opinion: This tea is a mixed bag for me (Haha, I had to include the word tea and bag in the same sentence). I got this tea from a white tea sampler set to get a better understanding of the taste of white tea. Since it received the lowest score from Adagio.com, I decided to review this one first before working my way up. I'm hearing that Silver Needle is incredible, so I can't wait to try it (Hopefully when I get my tea kettle in the mail!).
Onto the cucumber tea itself. At the moment you pop open the lid of the sampler tin, you will notice the strong scent of cucumbers. The scent of this tea is exactly like that of a cucumber, 100%. I give the scent of this tea props during and after brewing because it seriously feels like I'm standing in a hot spring chopping up fresh cucumbers. Maybe in a spa as well with cucumbers over my eyes, who knows.
The tea's color is a yellowish color with a greenish hue to it. I guess that is the signature look of most white teas (I also tried the Snowbud white tea today).
As for the taste… I hear that white teas have a really subtle taste to them. Well, not with this tea because it's full on, coming right at you, cucumber flavor. If you have cucumber tea, I would dare you to try it sweetened. But, if you're someone who enjoys the flavor of cucumbers, you will love this tea.
Honestly, there's nothing too special about this tea. I only like it because it feels like a liquid condensed version of a cucumber. The taste is true to its name, but cucumbers aren't my thing.
