As for ace trainers, yes they are in the games. From gen 1 to 3 they were cool trainers. Gen 4 onward, the title changed to ace trainer ^^
I wish they did more with Sabrina too =/ she's by far the most interesting gym leader in my opinion

As for your questions, I think my favorite gym leader would have to be Sabrina from Saffron City. It's a real shame that the anime didn't do more stuff with her. As for what type of trainer from the games I see myself as, I think my answer would have to be Ace Trainer (at least I think that's one of the trainer types from the games).
